In collaboration with the amazing team from Project Southchurch the idea was born to commemorate the death of Sir David Amess MP with a community artwork.

Following the  horrific murder of Sir David Amess and in light of our guaranteed City Status we feel it necessary to be clear – Southend will always be united, now as a City as before as a town, against terrorism. So we propose an art display on the seafront, with the participation of all faiths, all parts of our community, titled Hands Together. To be displayed  in his memory, in recognition of his love of Southend and the pride we share in this City and the total harmony we live in..

Project Southchurch and South Essex African Caribbean Association were present for the launch event.
